Samsung Galaxy A50 series phones have been a regular starter in our best phone under NPR 60,000 list for quite some time now. And the 2024 contender, the Galaxy A55 (successor of Galaxy A54) is also official. And it has made its way to Nepal as well. In this article, we will delve into the specs, features, and official price of the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G in Nepal.
The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G ships with a Samsung-AMD partnership chipset, the Exynos 1480. This Samsung-made 4nm fabbed SoC features eight cores, with four Cortex A-78 cores at 2.75GHz and four Cortex A-55 cores at 2.05GHz respectively. The graphics side gets interesting as it’s the Samsung Xclipse 530 GPU based on RDNA 2 architecture.
In terms of memory and storage, Samsung has paired the chip with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Booting the A55 is OneUI 6.1, built on top of Android 14. It is promised to receive 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security patches.
Speaking of the design, Samsung has not altered much here on the A55 5G. You still get the protruding camera lens design with a glass back, and a hole-punch display upfront. While the middle frame is now metallic and boasts a boxy form factor. It is available in four color options: Awesome Iceblue, Awesome Lemon, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy.
As for the display, it features a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. This FHD+ display has Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protection and supports 1000 nits of peak brightness and HDR 10+ content.
Getting to the optics, the Galaxy A55 5G sports a triple camera setup. It is headlined by a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide unit, and a 5MP macro sensor. The same trio as its predecessor, the A54 5G. Over on the front, there is a 32MP snapper for selfies and video calls. And this time as well, both the main and front cameras are capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps.
Fueling the smartphone is a 5000mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging support. Connectivity options include 5G, WiFi 6, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, you get an indisplay fingerprint sensor for biometrics security.
